Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Monitor the entire asphalt and precast projects, independently and commercially, throughout the project.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly cost reports for management.
  • Technical/cost review and sign-off for project viability before entering into the agreements.
  • Review agreement clauses based on MOW, FIDCT, etc., and recommend management for any alterations required for the best interest of the company.
  • Cost monitoring on each BOQ line item to ensure the project is intact in terms of cost. (The system can be developed accordingly.)
  • Ensure that project managers & quantity surveyors are meeting project deadlines on each milestone based on the look-ahead program and cost estimation.
  • Any variation to note upfront for claiming from the consultant/client & guide the lead quantity surveyor and team.
  • Ensure Project certifications received are in line with the cost incurred before invoicing.
  • Frequent site visits for monitoring the physical progress of the project.
  • Report any inefficiencies in the project to the CFO in terms of resource utilization.
  • Advise Cost cost-effective strategies for project execution & value engineering.
  • Report monthly progress on each project to the management.
  • Follow up on variation approvals/certifications or any other matters with internal & external stakeholders.
  • Involved in the tender evaluation process & advised the CFO & tender team before final submission
  • The commercial manager should report to the CFO.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in quantity surveying.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in commercial management or financial analysis, preferably within a project-based environment.
  • Experience in the construction or manufacturing industry is preferred to align with the company's operational needs.
  • Proficient in financial modeling and advanced Excel skills to analyze complex data sets effectively.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail to identify trends and discrepancies in financial reports.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey financial information clearly to stakeholders.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while maintaining a strong sense of independence.
  • Proficiency in financial software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and ERP systems for efficient cost tracking.
  • Fluent in English; knowledge of additional languages is an asset to support diverse team communication.
