About the Role:

As a Commi Chef 1, you will be an essential part of our culinary team, contributing to the preparation of high-quality dishes under the guidance of the Chef de Partie or Sous Chef. You will assist in food preparation, ensuring the highest standards of hygiene, safety, and quality are maintained throughout.

Your passion for cooking and attention to detail will help elevate the guest dining experience, supporting the team to deliver world-class meals in a timely and efficient manner.

What You Will Do:
  • Assist in the preparation of ingredients and dishes according to the kitchen's menu specifications.

  • Ensure that all ingredients are stored properly and prepared for cooking, maintaining freshness and quality.

  • Follow all recipes and presentation standards set by the senior chefs.

  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation, adhering to all health and safety regulations.

  • Assist in the preparation of mise en place for daily service.

  • Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, mixers, blenders, and slicers in a safe and efficient manner.

  • Monitor and ensure that kitchen stock is maintained at appropriate levels, reporting any discrepancies or low stock levels.

  • Collaborate with team members to ensure that food preparation and service are timely and efficient.

  • Participate in training and development to improve your skills and knowledge within the kitchen.

  • Take responsibility for personal hygiene, grooming, and cleanliness in the kitchen at all times.

  • Perform any other kitchen-related duties as requested by senior staff.

What You Will Bring:
  • Minimum 1-2 years of relevant experience in a luxury hotel or resort kitchen.

  • Strong knowledge of kitchen procedures and food preparation techniques.

  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on maintaining food quality and hygiene standards.

  • Ability to work well in a team and follow instructions.

  • A passion for food and learning about new culinary trends and techniques.

  • Flexibility to work in various kitchen sections and outlets.

  • Good command of the English language (both verbal and written).

  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment and stand for long periods.
