Commis Chef Pastry assists in the preparation and presentation of pastry and bakery items in line with Hyatt standards. This role supports the Pastry team in delivering innovative, high-quality desserts, breads, and baked goods, ensuring consistency, food safety, and an exceptional guest experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing a wide variety of pastries, baked goods, desserts, and confections according to standard recipes and presentations.
  • Ensure mise en place is completed for daily operations.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the pastry kitchen in compliance with HACCP and hotel standards.
  • Assist senior chefs in developing new pastry items and seasonal offerings.
  • Ensure proper storage, labeling, and rotation of all food items.
  • Support with banquet, restaurant, and in-room dining pastry production as required.
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and responsibly.
  • Collaborate with the Culinary team to maintain smooth kitchen operations.
  • Uphold Hyatt s brand promise of delivering exceptional guest service.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Diploma/Certificate in Culinary Arts or specialized training in Pastry & Bakery.
  • Previous experience in pastry/bakery within a hotel or restaurant (internship or 6 months 1 year preferred).
  • Knowledge of pastry techniques, baking fundamentals, and basic decoration.
  • Familiarity with food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team-oriented with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Basic communication skills in English.
