Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Support the hot kitchen in daily mise-en-place and service, ensuring dishes are prepared to recipe, portion, hygiene, and presentation standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare mise-en-place for the hot kitchen section as instructed by senior chefs.
  • Assist in cooking, plating, and sending dishes during service with speed and accuracy.
  • Follow recipes, portion control, and presentation standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the workstation and kitchen equipment.
  • Ensure proper storage, labelling, dating, and rotation of food items in line with FIFO.
  • Follow HACCP, food safety, hygiene, and personal grooming standards at all times.
  • Assist with receiving and storing kitchen supplies when required.
  • Support stock counts and minimise waste through proper handling and usage.

Desired Candidate Profile

Previous experience as Commis I or similar role in a hotel or quality restaurant.

  • Basic knowledge of hot kitchen operations and food preparation techniques.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Good teamwork and willingness to learn.
  • Good command of English for kitchen communication.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Culinary qualification is an advantage.
  • Immediate joiners preferred.
