Support the pastry kitchen in daily production and presentation of desserts, pastries, cakes, and baked items, ensuring consistency, hygiene, and quality standards are maintained at all times.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare pastry mise-en-place as instructed by senior chefs.
• Assist in the preparation of desserts, cakes, pastries, bakery items, and plated sweets.
• Follow recipes, portion control, and presentation standards accurately.
• Ensure proper storage, labelling, dating, and rotation of ingredients and finished products in line with FIFO.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the pastry section and equipment.
• Follow HACCP, food safety, hygiene, and personal grooming standards at all times.
• Assist with receiving and storing pastry ingredients and supplies when required.
• Support stock counts and minimise waste through proper handling and usage.

Requirements

• Previous experience as Commis I Pastry or similar role in a hotel, bakery, or quality restaurant.
• Basic knowledge of pastry preparation, baking techniques, and dessert presentation.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Good teamwork and willingness to learn.
• Good command of English for kitchen communication.
• Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
• Culinary or pastry qualification is an advantage.
• Immediate joiners preferred.
