Job Scope:

The Commis is responsible for supporting more experienced chefs in various aspects of food preparation and kitchen operations. This role provides an opportunity for culinary professionals to gain hands-on experience and develop their skills under the guidance of higher-ranked chefs.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation of ingredients and mise-en-place under the guidance of senior chefs.
• Follow recipes and cooking techniques to contribute to the production of high-quality dishes.
• Handle basic cooking tasks such as chopping, peeling, and marinating.
• Execute cooking tasks as directed, ensuring that food is cooked to the specified standards.
• Assist in the assembly and presentation of dishes.
• Learn and follow proper food handling and safety guidelines.
• Support the overall efficiency of the kitchen by maintaining cleanliness and organization.
• Assist in receiving and storing deliveries of food supplies.
• Operate kitchen equipment under supervision and adhere to safety protocols.
• Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth and coordinated operations.
• Adhere to hygiene and sanitation practices to ensure food safety.
• Contribute to maintaining high-quality standards in food preparation and presentation.
• Demonstrate a willingness to learn and grow within the culinary profession.
