Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
span>In the context of expanding programme portfolios and increased donor engagement, the position will support the Mission s efforts to document, package, and communicate programme results, partnerships, and impact in a timely and consistent manner./span> /p>
span>The incumbent will assist content development, digital engagement, visual documentation, and internal coordination to enhance institutional visibility and maintain alignment with IOM global communication standards and donor visibility requirements./span> /p>
strong>Skills/strong> /p>
- span>Excellent writing and editing skills, including news/press releases, human interest stories, speeches etc./span>
- span>Proven photography and videography skills,/span>
- span>Managing social media accounts of reputable organizations./span>
- p> span>Proficiency using Adobe Premier Pro, Photoshop, Lightroom, Audition and/or Illustrator, InDesign, is an asset./span> /p>
strong>Languages/strong> /p>
REQUIRED
For all applicants, fluency in English and French is required (oral and written).
DESIRABLE
Working knowledge of Arabic.
All IOM staff members in all categories are required to be fluent in one of the IOM's official languages (English, French, Spanish).

span>A. Strategic Content Development and Storytelling Support/span> /p>
- span>Assist in the preparation of human-interest stories, beneficiary testimonies, and impact narratives that showcase programme outcomes./span>
- span>Assist in identifying field-based stories that align with institutional priorities and donor visibility needs./span>
- span>Support the drafting of web stories, feature articles, and communication briefs highlighting programme results./span>
- span>Support the packaging of communication materials around key thematic areas (AVRR, protection, reintegration, migration governance, etc.)./span>
- span>Support the updating of the Mission s social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn)./span>
- span>Assist in maintaining a pipeline ready-to-publish content to promote continuity and consistency in posting./span>
- span>Draft social media captions and posts aligned with IOM tone, messaging standards, and donor acknowledgement requirements./span>
- span>Monitor engagement trends and assist with basic performance tracking for content planning purposes./span>
- span>Liaise with programme teams to gather timely updates, visuals, and information on activities./span>
- span>Support the preparation of visibility content linked to donor-funded projects, in line with branding and visibility guidelines./span>
- span>Assist in preparing communication outputs that highlight partnerships with Government counterparts and donors./span>
- span>Support the documentation of programme milestones, workshops, and official visits./span>
- span>Support field documentation through photography and short video clips./span>
- span>Assist in organizing and maintaining an archive of visual assets for institutional use./span>
- span>Support the creation of visual products (social media cards, simple layouts, branded content) using approved templates and tools./span>
- span>Maintain consistency of visual identity across materials./span>
- span>Assist in preparing communication inputs for presentations, briefings, and official engagements./span>
- span>Support the use and updating of standardized templates for communication products across units./span>
- span>Support internal coordination on communication activities and information sharing./span>
span>B. Digital Presence & Social Media Management/span> /p>
span>C. Programme Visibility & Donor Communication Support/span> /p>
span>D. Photo, Video & Visual Documentation/span> /p>
span>E. Institutional Positioning & Internal Communication Support/span> /p>
span>F. Coordination & Quality Assurance/span> /p>
- p> span>Review communication materials for alignment with IOM branding standards and global communication guidance./span> /p>
- p> span>Support coordination with the Regional Office and HQ communication teams when required./span> /p>
- p> span>Assist in reviewing draft content for clarity, tone, and consistency before publication./span> /p>
- p> span>Perform other related duties as assigned./span> /p>
Desired Candidate Profile
strong>Education/strong> /p>
- span>Bachelor s degree in Journalism or Communication, development communication, social sciences, or a related field from an accredited academic institution, with three years of relevant professional experience; or/span>
- p> span>High school diploma with five years of relevant professional experience./span> /p>
Accredited Universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database.
strong>Experience/strong> /p>
- p> span>Experience in journalism, media, and public information /communications work preferably in the development and humanitarian sector./span> /p>
- p> span>Experience assisting in the preparation of publications and promotional materials such as newsletters, reports and infographics is an advantage./span> /p>
- p> span>Experience supporting the coverage of public events, contributing to human-interest stories, photo essays and video stories./span> /p>
- p> span>Familiarity with publishing content on social media platforms./span> /p>
- span>Experience providing translation support between working languages is an advantage./span>
- p> span>Experience assuming duties and responsibilities in media and communications./span> /p>
