Roles & Responsibilities

DUTIES:

  • Responsible for maintaining a safe workplace and ensuring that safety is the highest priority in the workplace.

  • Comply with all Environmental, Health & Safety, and Quality Assurance requirements and goals; provide required documentation as necessary.

  • Repair, maintain, and alter buildings.

  • Mix mortar, lay bricks, and pour/repair concrete sidewalks.

  • Make and repair steps, install and repair tile floors, and perform incidental carpentry work.

  • Build, set forms, and tie steel (rebar & wire mesh) for concrete placement.

  • Smooth and finish surfaces of poured concrete floors, walls, sidewalks, or curbs to specified textures.

  • Use hand tools or power tools including floats, trowels, and screeds.

  • Direct and operate a concrete truck.

  • Spread concrete into inaccessible form sections using rakes or shovels.

  • Level concrete to specified depth and consistency; finish surfaces using power trowels, wet rubs, edging tools, jointers, and straightedges.

  • Perform specialized work such as finishing steps, stairways, repairing old surfaces, or producing decorative/textured finishes.

  • Cut, shape, and install tiles around obstacles, corners, and tight spaces using hand and power tools.

  • Prepare and level tile beds with concrete, plaster, mastic, cement, glue, or mortar.

  • Align and level tiles to ensure accurate, even patterns.

  • Install granite, marble, and mosaic designs ensuring precision and durability.

  • Prepare surfaces with waterproofing materials or lath prior to tiling.

  • Follow blueprints and mark/measure work areas accurately.

  • Submit detailed reports on all concrete and masonry projects to management.

  • Perform additional duties and projects assigned.

REQUIRED:

  • Minimum Acceptable Experience Level: Six (6) years comparable experience at the Journeyman level as mason or trade school training in concrete repair and new concrete construction.

  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Knowledge of principles and processes involved in supporting contract responsibilities at an overseas facility.

    • Demonstrated ability to lead small work crews during masonry projects.

    • Ability to read and interpret drawings and schedules.

    • Ability to work independently, use initiative, and resolve conflicting priorities calmly.

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access, Internet Explorer).

    • Strong organizational and time management skills.

    • Excellent customer service skills.

    • Cross-cultural sensitivity and ability to work in an international environment.

    • Strong communication skills (oral and written).

    • Ability to innovate and drive change.

    • Team-oriented with proven ability to contribute effectively.

  • Education: A high school diploma or GED. Certificate from a vocational program is preferred.

  • Licenses: Valid drivers license from Home of Record and valid truck driver s license from Home of Record.

  • Security Vetting: Already possess a US Government issued security clearance or Moderate Risk Public Trust (MRPT) or be able to obtain a favorable MRPT certification or US Government clearance prior to being hired is required for the position. Must maintain eligibility at the required certification or clearance level for the duration of the contract.

  • Language Skills: Strong, professional, oral and written English communication skills.

  • Medical: Successfully complete and pass the medical and dental examinations as required by Amentum and our customer for deployment to Iraq. Must maintain physical and dental requirements for duration of deployment.

DESIRED:

  • Previous out of home country experience is highly desirable and previous work experience in harsh environmental conditions is a plus.

  • Experience working with Amentum.

Desired Candidate Profile

This position is contingent upon Customer approval, funding, and/or position availability.

The Concrete & Masonry Supervisor (AN) will be based at one of three Amentum sites in Iraq and will serve the Operations and Maintenance Support Services (OMSS) program in support of the U.S. Department of State. This position is responsible for providing construction support on small construction, remodeling, and renovation projects. The Concrete & Masonry Supervisor will report directly to the Renovation Manager. Additionally, the supervisor is responsible for preparing and submitting daily, weekly, and monthly reports to the Renovation Manager./p>
