Kafka (Primary 70%)

• Deploy, configure, and manage Confluent Kafka clusters (Brokers, ZK, Connect, Schema Registry, KSQL, Control Center).
• Monitor performance, throughput, replication, and consumer lag; manage topics, partitions, ACLs.
• Troubleshoot Kafka issues (broker failures, under-replicated partitions, connector failures).
• Manage Kafka security: SSL, SASL, RBAC.
• Implement and maintain Kafka Connect integrations; build dashboards using Prometheus/Grafana.
• Perform upgrades, patches, cluster scaling, DR, and cross-cluster replication (Cluster Linking/MirrorMaker).
• Support dev teams in optimizing producers/consumers.

RHEL Linux Administration (Secondary 30%)

• Perform daily admin tasks: patching, user management, performance tuning.
• Monitor logs, disk/CPU/memory utilization; manage system services (systemd, networking, firewalld, SELinux).
• Troubleshoot OS/hardware/application issues and maintain backup & security hardening.

Required Skills

• 4 years IT administration experience; 2+ years hands-on Kafka (Confluent/Apache).
• Strong understanding of Kafka architecture, replication, failover, Connect, Schema Registry, KSQL.
• Proficient with Kafka CLI tools, REST APIs, and RHEL 7/8/9 administration.
• Knowledge of Prometheus, Grafana, Confluent Control Center.
• Good networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, firewall).
• Strong troubleshooting skills under pressure.

Preferred Skills

• Ansible or automation tools.
• Exposure to Kafka on Docker/Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of CIS hardening or compliance standard
