Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Project Management:

  • Oversee the full project lifecycle, from planning and preparation through execution and completion.
  • Ensure that conservation targets (e.g., number of treated documents) are met in accordance with the project timeline.
  • Track project progress and align activities with project milestones and deadlines.

Coordination and Collaboration:

  • Coordinate with the Inventory Team during the project s initial stage to receive, review, and prepare documents for conservation.
  • Collaborate closely with the Digitization Team in the subsequent project stage to ensure a seamless handover and continuous workflow.
  • Maintain effective communication across all teams to ensure alignment, efficiency, and adherence to project timelines.

Monitoring and Reporting:

  • Provide weekly progress reports to the Head of the PAC Center, covering technical developments, achieved milestones, and financial status.
  • Identify potential risks or delays and propose effective corrective or preventive actions to maintain project objectives and timelines

Technical Oversight:

  • Supervise the implementation of conservation methodologies and ensure adherence to best practices and standards.
  • Ensure quality control in the conservation processes and final outcomes.

Financial Oversight:

  • Monitor project budgets and expenditures.
  • Ensure financial compliance and report any discrepancies or concerns to the PAC Center Head.

Desired Candidate Profile

Minimum Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor s degree in Conservation, Library Science, Museum Studies, or a related field (Master s degree preferred).
  • Proven experience in project management, preferably within cultural heritage, library, or museum environments.
  • Knowledge of conservation practices and workflows.
  • Strong coordination and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; Arabic is an asset.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and manage multiple priorities.
  • Familiarity with reporting tools and budget tracking.
