Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Manage and monitor all accounting operations related to construction projects, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.

  • Prepare, review, and analyze project budgets, cost reports, and financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies.
  • Track project expenditures, ensuring all costs are allocated correctly and within approved budgets.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to verify and process invoices and payments.
  • Reconcile bank statements, vendor accounts, and project-related transactions on a regular basis.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports specific to construction activities.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations for construction-related transactions.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies or issues related to project billing, contracts, and change orders.
  • Contribute to process improvements and the implementation of best practices in construction accounting.

Desired Candidate Profile

Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

2 to 5 years of proven experience in accounting, preferably within the construction or real estate industry.

Strong understanding of construction project accounting principles and practices.

Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Knowledge of local financial regulations and compliance standards.

Experience with cost tracking, budgeting, and financial reporting for construction projects.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in an office-based environment.
