Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Oversee the entire construction project lifecycle, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards while effectively coordinating all stakeholders.
- Develop and implement project plans, identifying risks and creating mitigation strategies that ensure smooth project execution.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and address any issues that arise, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and building codes.
- Manage procurement processes, including selecting subcontractors and suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring materials meet project specifications.
- Facilitate communication among architects, engineers, and clients to ensure all project requirements are clearly understood and met.
- Prepare and present detailed reports on project progress, financial status, and forecasted outcomes to senior management and stakeholders.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols on-site, ensuring that all workers are trained and aware of safety standards to minimize risks.
- Lead and mentor project teams, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages professional growth and high performance.
- Utilize project management software and tools to track progress, manage budgets, and streamline communication among team members.
- Resolve conflicts and negotiate solutions among stakeholders, ensuring that all parties are satisfied while maintaining project integrity.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is essential for a strong foundation in project principles.
- A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in construction management, showcasing a solid track record of completed projects.
- Professional certifications such as PMP, CCM, or LEED AP are highly desirable, demonstrating commitment to industry standards and best practices.
- Proven experience in managing large-scale construction projects with budgets exceeding $1 million, showcasing financial acumen.
- Bilingual candidates are preferred, particularly in English and Spanish, to facilitate communication in diverse project environments.
- Hands-on experience with various construction methods, materials, and technologies is crucial for effective decision-making on-site.
- Strong leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to motivate teams and manage diverse groups of workers effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing project challenges are essential for success.
- Strong understanding of local building codes and regulations to ensure compliance throughout the construction process.
- Physical fitness is important for site visits, as the role may require navigating construction sites and participating in inspections.
