Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

The construction manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, budgeting, and supervising construction activities from project inception to completion. This role ensures the effective management of on-site operations, compliance with safety and building regulations, and alignment with project specifications, schedules, and budgets. The construction manager works closely with the project manager, site teams, subcontractors, and consultants to deliver high-quality construction outcomes in a safe, timely, and cost-effective manner.

Desired Candidate Profile

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning and Execution

  • Assist the Project Manager in preparing project schedules, budgets, and material/service requirements.

  • Oversee and direct construction activities from start to finish, ensuring alignment with contractual obligations and project goals.

  • Review project scope and schedules in-depth to forecast resources and estimate costs accurately.

  • Sign off on key documents, including project schedules and plans.

  • Site Management

  • Supervise on-site and off-site construction works to ensure adherence to safety protocols and regulatory compliance.

  • Coordinate and manage construction workers and subcontractors, ensuring productivity and discipline.

  • Monitor work progress weekly and address emerging issues proactively.

  • Ensure that construction standards and best practices are followed on-site.

  • Subcontractor and Vendor Coordination

  • Ensure the scope of work is clearly defined in subcontractor agreements and that responsibilities are fully detailed.

  • Manage relationships with subcontractors and ensure performance is aligned with project expectations.

  • Quality, Health and Safety

  • Implement Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE); quality assurance; and cost control plans tailored to each project.

  • Conduct periodic site inspections and ensure construction practices meet the approved standards and specifications.

  • Promote a culture of safety and ensure the team adheres to safety procedures at all times.

  • Risk Management and Problem Solving

  • Analyze and mitigate risks that could impact construction timelines or quality.

  • Resolve issues related to engineering, materials, labor, or equipment that arise on-site in coordination with relevant departments.

  • Communication and Reporting

Provide regular internal and external reports on project status, progress, and challenges.

  • Communicate effectively with project stakeholders and ensure timely decision-making and documentation.

  • Resource Management and Oversight

  • Ensure timely allocation of resources and verify the efficiency of engineering and procurement processes.

  • Control project delivery through structured oversight of project management, engineering disciplines, and area-specific construction managers.

  • Ensure safe, efficient, and timely execution of assigned projects in line with the company’s standards and project targets.


Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field from a recognized university.

    Experience:

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience with reputable construction contracting companies, preferably within high-end residential or commercial construction.

    Skills:

    • Strong knowledge of construction processes, site operations, and industry best practices.

    • Proven ability to lead site teams and manage subcontractors.

    • Proficiency in construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite.

    • Excellent organizational, analytical, and leadership skills.

    • Strong understanding of local safety regulations and quality control systems.
