Wood is currently recruiting for a Construction Manager to join its Singapore business unit focusing on delivering assigned construction of Outside Station projects safely for a major onshore brownfield project in Basra, Iraq on 5*3 rotation.
This is a full-time onsite position in Basra, Iraq, with travel requirement.

Expected:
- Degree in engineering
- Construction Management experience for Oil & Gas projects
- Extensive experience in onshore oil & gas projects, pipeline, or similar nature.
- Experience in pigging operations (planning and execution), welding and related facilities, hot tapping and stopple activities
- Knowledge of manual UT, phased array and other advance forms of NDE, painting and coating application and testing
- Knowledge of pipeline defect assessments including metal loss, dents and crack assessment
- Advanced computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft office tools, Word / Excel / PowerPoint, to advanced template creation and document / data management level
- Minimum 12 years experience in O&G industry with a field construction planning, execution and testing

Job Purpose
- The Construction Manager has overall responsibility for delivering assigned construction of Outside Station projects safely, ensuring that quality, schedule, and cost targets are met and for managing the associated risk.
- Responsible for delivery of project to agreed specifications, for managing change and customer relationships, and ensuring appropriate reporting and governance is adhered to and controlled
Key Accountabilities:
- Primary interface and point of contact for the construction of Outside Station Projects.
- Oversee the execution of fabrication, construction, and hookup for Outside Station projects
- Report progress, performance, initiatives, issues, and challenges to FOD Projects Manager
- Champion the company sites leadership expectations
- Champion on-site safety awareness and safe performance with contractor and among Project construction team members
- Interface with contractor on a day-to-day basis
- Provide input in the review and development of contractor s detailed plans and procedures
- Monitor and appraise contractor s performance and recommend corrective action to be taken where deficiencies are detected; verify actions are taken
- Coordinate resolution of construction related issues
- Establish, implement, and maintain verification process for mechanical completion
- Ensure appropriate materials management system is implemented at site
- Coordinate with on-site personnel regarding planning and implementation of fabrication, construction, and mechanical completion activities of Outside Station Projects.
- Participate in company lessons learned reviews and provide input to close-out reports
- Ensure execution of the contract is in compliance with contract specifications
- Providing on site supervision for onshore Outside Station Projects
- Verification of excavation location, excavation, coating removal and cleaning, external inspection (manual and phased array), review of data, recoating, backfilling and site clean-up
- Planning and supervision of repairs including bolted clamp, welded split sleeve, composite wrap and sectional replacement
- Planning and supervision of maintenance and inspection pigging activities
- Input to development of routine processes and procedures
- Review and input to Job hazard assessments and participation in technical and safety reviews applicable to
Desired Candidate Profile
