Roles & Responsibilities

A job opportunity for the position of  CONSTRUCTION QUANTITY SURVEYOR  Abu Dhabi and Al Ain.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Quantity Surveyors play a crucial role in the construction industry by managing costs, ensuring compliance and providing valuable insights throughout the project lifecycle. Their expertise helps to deliver projects efficiently and economically while maintaining high standards of quality.
• Cost Estimation: Quantity surveyors conduct feasibility studies to estimate materials, labor, and time costs for construction projects. They prepare detailed cost plans and budgets to guide the project from inception to completion.
• Tendering and Contract Management: They prepare, negotiate, and analyze costs for tenders and contracts, ensuring that all financial aspects are clearly defined and agreed upon. This includes preparing contract documents and bills of quantities.
• Cost Control and Monitoring: Throughout the construction process, quantity surveyors monitor ongoing expenses, track changes to the design or construction work, and adjust budget projections accordingly. They ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and provide regular progress reports to clients and stakeholders.
• Valuation and Payments: They are responsible for valuing completed work and arranging payments to contractors. This involves verifying the progress of work and ensuring that payments reflect the actual work completed.
• Advisory Role: Quantity surveyors provide expert advice on a range of legal and contractual issues, helping clients navigate disputes and claims. They also assist in risk management and value engineering to enhance project efficiency
Daily Tasks:
• Conduct site visits to assess progress and quality of work.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
• Prepare reports and analyses on project costs and progress.
• Stay updated on industry trends, building codes, and safety protocols.

Desired Candidate Profile

Graduate of Engineering Course or any Equivalent.
• 3 Years or more Quantity Surveyor in a Construction Company.
• Strong skills in analysis and problem solving
• Strong ability to supervise tendering procedures and compile job specifications.Possess strong organizational and site management skills to effectively coordinate site activities

• Ability to perform calculation, dimensioning, and control of concrete and metallic construction
• Profound ability to carry out safety analyses and stability and quality control
• Strong ability to plan and manage project resources and budgets
• Strong communication skills, including verbal and written.
• Analytical Skills: Proficiency in analyzing supplier performance and market trends.
• Technical Knowledge: Understanding of engineering principles and specifications relevant to the materials
being procured.
• Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers
• Strong analytical and numerical skills for accurate cost estimation and budgeting.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills to manage contracts and stakeholder relationships.
• Knowledge of construction processes, materials, and relevant laws is essential for effective project management.
