Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

The purpose of this 12-month assignment is to provide sustained, high-quality technical operational coordination, and content support to the Staff Wellbeing (SWB) team. The consultant will play a central role in strengthening operational efficiency, maintaining global systems, enabling smooth delivery of wellbeing programming, and supporting the visibility and functioning of wellbeing initiatives across UNICEF Regional and Country Offices. This consultancy is essential for ensuring continuity of wellbeing programming throughout 2026 and beyond, supporting the expansion of global systems such as the improved Peer Support Volunteer (PSV) Programme, Pre-Deployment/Post and Transitional Briefing System, and the global Staff Wellbeing SharePoint and Agora platform. The consultant will help ensure that the SWB team meets its strategic objectives and maintains a disability-inclusive, accessible, and coordinated approach to staff wellbeing.

Scope of Work:

The consultant will be responsible for delivering on the following workstreams throughout the period 1 January 2026 31 December 2026:

A. Coordination and Knowledge Management

1. Programme Coordination

  • Support the coordination of the Improved Peer Support Volunteer (PSV) Programme and Wellness Advocate Programme, including reorganizing the PSV Resources Toolkit, supporting training (live and e-learning) with emerging evidence-based virtual reality simulations, and providing operational coordination.
  • Assist in organizing and coordinating well-being activities and resources to enable effective delivery.
  • Provide logistical support for well-being officer and country office well-being activities.

2. Global Data Systems Development

  • Monitor, maintain, and update the Global and Regional Staff Wellbeing data reporting system, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.
  • Contribute to enhancements, including usability improvements, data visualization, and automation of reporting processes.

3. Pre/Post/Transitional-Deployment Briefing System

  • Support planning and implementation of the Global Pre-Deployment Briefing System.
  • Provide support for Staff Care in implementing Emergency Protocols during missions and surges
  • Facilitate the system s transition into an improved version, including coordination with HR, Staff Counsellors, Security and Emergency units.

4. Event and Workshop Coordination

  • Assist in planning, preparation, and delivery of global and regional events such as:
  • • Annual Staff Counsellor Meeting
  • • Town halls and webinars
  • • Multi-country wellbeing workshops
  • • Staff Week wellbeing sessions
  • • Staff Counseling Missions and Reports
  • Contribute to the effective planning and execution of events, ensuring timely preparation and follow-up.

B. Communication and Content Support

1. SharePoint & Internal Platforms

  • Maintain and update the Global and Regional Staff Wellbeing SharePoint sites to ensure regular visibility of wellbeing tools, upcoming events, and new resources.
  • Manage and update the Viva Engage Staff Wellbeing Community with timely announcements, posts, and engagement support.

2. Newsletter & Communication Material

  • Draft and curate content for the global DPC Newsletter, including gathering inputs from regions, highlighting activities, and drafting summaries.
  • Draft internal messaging and announcements for wellbeing initiatives, campaigns, or events.

3. Cross-Team Communication

  • Coordinate with internal teams (HR, DEI, Ethics, SBC, Emergency, Regional Directors Offices) to ensure aligned communication and consistent messaging across different audiences.
  • Support the dissemination of wellbeing content, ensuring accessibility and disability-inclusive formatting.

C. Resource Development and Team Collaboration

1. Toolkit, Learning Materials & Technical Resources

  • Support the creation, updating, branding, and dissemination of psychoeducational content, well-being toolkits, training materials, and mental health literacy resources.
  • Assist in organizing and managing SharePoint-based toolkits and ensuring timely content updates.

2. Campaigns & Global Initiatives

  • Contribute to the rollout and monitoring of global and regional Staff Wellbeing strategies and campaigns.
  • Assist in preparing assets, coordinating regional contributions, and ensuring material is disseminated across UNICEF offices.

3. Cross-Cutting Team Engagement

  • Participate in internal working groups, ensuring well-being integration across organizational strategies, including:
  • • Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI)
  • • Psychological Safety
  • • Positive Behavioral Leadership Values and Skills
  • • HR & Emergency Preparedness
  • Assist in documenting and organizing team inputs, action points, and deliverables.

4. Knowledge-Sharing & Research Support

  • Conduct light desk literature reviews on wellbeing, psychosocial support, behavioral science, and positive mental health workplace.
  • Support knowledge-sharing efforts, including compiling resources, preparing summaries, and supporting internal learning sessions.

Desired Candidate Profile

Education: Bachelor s degree in administration, psychology, Social Work, Public Health, Communications, or related field.

Work Experience:

At least 2 -years of relevant administrative or coordination experience, preferably in wellbeing, mental health, HR, or development settings. To have experience working directly with Disabled Friendly settings and integrating wellbeing initiatives with a disability friendly lens.

Strong organizational and time management skills, with a high level of attention to detail.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint); familiarity with internal communication platforms (e.g., Viva Engage, Yammer).

Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and work collaboratively in a multicultural, fast-paced environment.

Language Requirements: Fluency in English, Arabic is an asset.

Desirable:

Experience supporting inclusive disability friendly wellbeing or mental health programmes in humanitarian or international development contexts.

Familiarity with data tracking systems, invoicing, UNICEF protocols and vendor management processes.

Understanding Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), Ethics, or Staff Engagement frameworks.
