Consultant Cardiothoracic Anaesthesiologist - Adult and Paediatric

Candidates applying to the job should have the experience and set of skills for managing critically ill adult and pediatric patients undergoing major cardiac and thoracic surgery procedures. In addition, candidates are expected to have at least 5 years experience as consultant cardiothoracic anaesthesiologist in a busy specialist or tertiary hospital to manage the complex nature of the procedures and patient mix including but not limited to:

• Pediatric and congenital heart disease surgery
• Adult Cardiac surgery (e.g. high-risk redo surgery, surgery for thoracic aorta)
• Ventricular Assist Devices (VADs)
• Robotic cardiac surgery (valve replacement/repair, VADs placement and heart transplant)
• Heart, lung, and combined heart lung transplantation
• Interventional cardiology procedures (TAVR, MitraClip, Triclip, etc)
• Diagnostic and interventional pediatric cardiology procedures (heart defect device-closure, PPVI, Fontan fenestration closure)
• Electrophysiology and cardiac implantable electronic devices (CIED)

Intra-operative echocardiography: TEE certificate/experience is an essential requirement.
