Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities Clinical Practice

  • Provide comprehensive gastroenterology consultation services for adult patients
  • Perform high-quality diagnostic and therapeutic colonoscopy in accordance with international best practices
  • Diagnose and manage a broad range of gastrointestinal conditions, including functional, inflammatory, and hepatobiliary disorders
  • Ensure accurate documentation, informed consent, and post-procedure follow-up

Endoscopy & Procedural Care

  • Maintain high procedural standards, patient safety, and infection control within the endoscopy unit
  • Participate in audit and quality improvement activities related to endoscopic outcomes
  • Collaborate with anesthesia, nursing, and technical teams to ensure efficient service delivery

Multidisciplinary Collaboration

  • Work closely with surgeons, oncologists, radiologists, pathologists, and primary care teams
  • Participate in MDT meetings and clinical case discussions
  • Contribute to patient education and preventative screening programs, including colorectal cancer screening

Clinical Governance & Professional Practice

  • Adhere to DHA regulations, hospital policies, and international clinical guidelines
  • Participate in clinical audits, morbidity reviews, and continuous professional development
  • Support teaching, mentoring, or supervision of junior medical staff as required

Desired Candidate Profile

Required Qualifications & Experience Essential

  • Medical degree with specialist qualification in Gastroenterology
  • Board certification / CCT / equivalent (UK, Europe, North America, Australia, or equivalent)
  • Proven experience as a Consultant Gastroenterologist
  • Strong competence in diagnostic and therapeutic colonoscopy
  • Eligibility for DHA Consultant License
  • Native or near-native English fluency

Preferred

  • Experience working in a high-volume endoscopy unit
  • Prior experience in private healthcare or international hospital settings
  • Interest in service development or screening programs
