· Respond to patients’ medical problems by reviewing their history, physical examination and investigations, reaching to a probable diagnosis, appropriate evidence based treatment, counseling and referral where necessary

· Reach an informed diagnosis based on scientific knowledge and the patient’s medical history

· Order laboratory and Radiological investigations and interpret their results

· Maintain confidentiality and impartiality at all times

· Perform Procedures as privileged

· Prescribe or administer medications, therapy and other specialized care to treat or prevent illness, disease or injury

· Educate patients about the advantages, disadvantages, risks and alternatives regarding a proposed treatment or operation

· Explain procedures or prescribed treatments to patients

· Provide general pre and post-operative care

· Monitor and administer medication when indicated

· Evaluate effectiveness of current care methods and procedures and suggest improvements

· Keep General practitioners informed about care of their patients where indicated

· Use resources efficiently for the benefit of patients and the public

· Provide adequate follow-up to the patient within a reasonable amount of time

· Examine and provide treatments to injuries and refer patients to other physicians when needed (ophthalmologists, orthopedists, neurologists etc.)

· Arrange referral for patients requiring services not offered at TTH
