Roles & Responsibilities

Annually, the Heart Centre admits over 2500 inpatients in various cardiovascular conditions and perform thousands of surgeries, specialized procedures and diagnostic tests for our patients which are not done anywhere else in the Kingdom.

Heart Centre Scope of Service

  • Adult Cardiology
  • Pediatric Cardiology
  • Electrophysiology
  • Cardiac Surgery
  • Adult Congenital Heart Disease
  • Adult Outpatient Clinic
  • Pediatric Outpatient Clinic
  • Non-Invasive Cardiology Lab
  • Cardiac Cath Lab (Invasive)

Heart Centre Expertise

  • The only center for heart transplantation in Saudi Arabia and in the Gulf States Region.
  • Mechanical heart assists devices for bridge to transplant or recovery - one of the very few centers in the area.
  • High-risk open-heart surgery in hemodialysis patients.
  • High-risk complicated repeat congenital open-heart surgery in pediatric population.
  • High-risk complicated repeat open heart surgery in adults, children and newborns.
  • High-risk complicated repeat multi-valve procedures.
  • Open heart surgery in patients with multiple chronic diseases.

Desired Candidate Profile

Requirements:

  • Medical Degree
  • Current, active medical license in: Canada, the United States, the UK, Western Europe, Australia, or New Zealand
  • National Board (sub)specialty certification in Cardiothoracic Surgery and/or Congenital Cardiac Surgery from Canada, the United States, the UK, Western Europe, Australia or New Zealand
  • Minimum three to five years of post-specialty certification experience as a Consultant Pediatric Cardiac Surgeon working tertiary-care, academic hospital in Canada, the United States, the UK, Western Europe, Australia or New Zealand
  • Academic appointment preferred
  • Research experience preferred
