Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly experienced Consultant in Pediatric Intensive Care (PICU) to join a leading private healthcare provider in Dubai. This is a senior-level role within a modern, well-equipped PICU, delivering advanced critical care to infants, children, and adolescents.

The successful candidate will play a key role in managing high-acuity pediatric cases, contributing to clinical excellence, and supporting the ongoing development of critical care services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert care in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, managing critically ill neonates, infants, and children
  • Lead the management of complex and high-acuity cases, including respiratory failure, sepsis, trauma, and post-operative care
  • Perform advanced procedures such as intubation, central line insertion, ventilator management, and hemodynamic monitoring
  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team including pediatric subspecialists, anesthetists, and nursing staff
  • Participate in on-call rota and emergency response within the hospital
  • Contribute to clinical governance, audits, protocols, and quality improvement initiatives
  • Support training and supervision of junior medical staff

Desired Candidate Profile

Recognized Consultant qualification in Pediatric Intensive Care / Pediatric Critical Care

Tier 1 / Western training preferred (e.g., US Board, CCT, FRCPCH or equivalent)

Proven experience in tertiary-level PICU settings

Eligibility for DHA Consultant license

Strong procedural and critical care management skills

Excellent leadership, communication, and teamwork abilities
