The Department of Medicine at our client hospital in Riyadh, includes the following sections:

  • Allergy/Immunology

  • Internal Medicine
  • Nephrology
  • Pulmonary Medicine
  • Rheumatology

The Department of Medicine dedicates its resources towards providing state-of-the-art medical care in in-patient, outpatient, and consultation services. Its commitment extends to medical education for 30 residents in fully accredited Residency Training Programs and 16 fellows in 8 fellowship programs and to research and disease prevention. The department staff has contributions beyond King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre through professional group activities and national and regional committees. In 2005, 1830 new tertiary care patients were accepted for management in the different sections.

The Department of Medicine has an extensive expertise in all fields of clinical medicine. It has, however, established and focused its efforts on a number of core competency programs. The aim is to develop a level of excellence in these specialized programs which include Thromboembolic Disorders, AIDS Program and Thyroid Cancer Program. Other areas of special expertise are Renal Transplant Program, complex Endoscopic diagnostic, Therapeutic procedures and highly specialized intensive care services.

Prior to offering a permanent (1-2 years) contract, the hospital may invite doctors for a one-month locum. This provides an opportunity to visit the hospital, check out the department, and see Riyadh and Saudi Arabia. This gives you the time to decide if all your critical needs and desires such as geography, income potential, practice style, administrative agendas, and community profile line up with your long-term goals.

Desired Candidate Profile

Medical degree, and US Board, or Irish, UK, Canadian, New Zealand or Australian FRCS, or Diplome d'fEtudes Specialises (DES)/CIS French Board, or German Facharzt, and Valid and current medical license/registration in North America, Western Europe, or Australia/New Zealand, and A minimum of 3-4 years post-specialty certification experience in the specialty area in a mid- to large-size hospital in North America, Western Europe, or Australia/New Zealand.
