UNICEF works in over 190 countries and territories to save children s lives, defend their rights, and help them fulfill their potential, from early childhood through adolescence.
Lebanon s child protection system has been heavily affected by recent crises, increasing children s vulnerability - especially in early childhood settings. In response to critical gaps highlighted by recent daycare maltreatment cases, the Ministry of Public Health, in partnership with UNICEF and key stakeholders, has developed a new Child Safeguarding Policy for Daycares. This programme aims to strengthen safety and accountability in daycare facilities by raising awareness of the policy, building staff capacity, and supporting nationwide implementation to ensure consistent safeguarding standards for young children.
