Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Duties

  • Provide comprehensive care to renal transplant recipients, including pre-transplant evaluation, peri-operative management, and long-term post-transplant follow-up
  • Manage complex immunosuppression regimens and transplant-related complications
  • Deliver high-quality inpatient and outpatient nephrology services
  • Participate in on-call rotations as per departmental requirements
  • Ensure patient care aligns with international clinical guidelines and hospital policies

Multidisciplinary Collaboration

  • Work closely with transplant surgeons, anesthetists, intensivists, pathologists, and allied health professionals
  • Participate in transplant selection committees and multidisciplinary team meetings
  • Support living and deceased donor transplant programs

Academic & Quality Responsibilities

  • Contribute to clinical governance, quality improvement, and patient safety initiatives
  • Participate in teaching and mentoring of junior physicians, fellows, and nursing staff
  • Engage in clinical research, audits, and continuous professional development activities

Desired Candidate Profile

Medical degree from a recognized institution

  • Board Certification / CCT / Specialist Certification in Nephrology
  • Fellowship or formal training in Transplant Nephrology
  • Minimum 5 10 years of post-qualification experience, including substantial transplant nephrology exposure
  • Eligibility for DOH (Abu Dhabi) Consultant License

Desirable

  • Experience in high-volume transplant centers
  • Western, Arab Board, or equivalent international certification
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team-working skills
