Contract Administrator

Parsons is seeking a highly capable Contracts Administrator to join our team! In this role, you will support major construction and infrastructure projects by administering prime contracts, managing contractual correspondence, and assisting with the resolution of variations, claims, and disputes. You will help ensure that all contract administration activities comply with project requirements, Parsons procedures, client standards, and international forms of contract, including FIDIC.
What You ll Be Doing:
- Administering post-award prime contracts for construction and infrastructure projects in accordance with contractual terms, conditions, and project requirements.
- Supporting the management of contractual matters throughout the project lifecycle, including variations, change orders, claims, extensions of time, and final accounts.
- Reviewing and interpreting contract terms and conditions, identifying contractual rights, obligations, risks, and opportunities.
- Preparing and responding to contractual notices, letters, and formal correspondence in line with contract requirements and time-bar provisions.
- Assisting in the evaluation and negotiation of variations, claims, and change orders submitted by contractors, consultants, and suppliers.
- Supporting the preparation and defense of claims and the management of disputes, including collection and organization of supporting documentation and records.
- Monitoring contractor performance against key contractual requirements, including deliverables, milestones, progress, and compliance with obligations.
- Coordinating with project management, commercial, engineering, and site supervision teams to identify, document, and resolve contractual issues.
- Maintaining well-organized, up-to-date contract records, including contracts, amendments, variations, correspondence, meeting minutes, and claims/variation registers.
- Assisting in the preparation of internal reports and summaries on contract status, variations, claims, and commercial exposure for management review.
- Providing guidance to project teams on basic contractual interpretations and Parsons contract administration procedures.
- Participating in project, commercial, and progress meetings with clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders as required.
- Supporting the administration of multiple contracts concurrently and ensuring timely follow-up on all contractual matters.
What Required Skills You ll Bring:
- Bachelor s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field from an accredited institution, preferably with chartered or professional status.
- Strong consultants QS/commercial background.
- 12 years of experience in prime contract administration for construction and infrastructure projects, including exposure to claims and disputes, preferably in the Gulf / Middle East region.
- 5 years of experience in a similar capacity with design and supervision consultancy firms supporting large construction and infrastructure projects.
- Demonstrated post-award contract administration experience.
- Working knowledge of industry business practices and the negotiation of prime design/build and construction contracts.
- Proven working knowledge of FIDIC forms of contract and familiarity with other international forms related to design/build, consultancy, and construction contracts.
- Solid understanding of construction contract administration, including terms and conditions, legal issues, and the ability to interpret and understand contracts.
- Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
- Strong written communication skills, including the ability to draft clear contractual correspondence and reports.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, contractors, and internal teams.
- Working knowledge of PC software typically associated with contract administration (e.g., MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and document/contract management systems).
- Organized with effective problem-solving and negotiation skills.
- Proven ability to work as part of a specialist consultant team and to operate with minimal supervision.
- Experience administering multiple contracts at any one time and managing competing priorities.
