Roles & Responsibilities

As part of our cost consultancy team, the Contracts Manager will manage the full contract lifecycle, bringing deep expertise in FIDIC and strong commercial judgement to a highly client-facing position. Acting as a trusted advisor, you ll drive effective contract administration, proactively manage risk, and ensure commercially successful outcomes across this complex, high-profile project.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Act as the principal point of contact for all contractual and commercial matters across the infrastructure packages.
  • Lead the administration of contracts in accordance with FIDIC conditions, ensuring full compliance and best practice at all stages.
  • Provide expert contractual advice to the client and project team, identifying risks, opportunities, and mitigation strategies.
  • Manage and assess variations, claims, and disputes, ensuring robust and commercially sound outcomes.
  • Prepare, review, and manage contractual correspondence, notices, and submissions in line with contractual obligations and timelines.
  • Support procurement and tendering activities, including contract drafting, review, and negotiation. Monitor contractor performance against contractual obligations and advise on commercial and contractual compliance. Lead the resolution of contractual issues, working closely with legal, technical, and project stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and contractors, ensuring clear and proactive communication.
  • Contribute to commercial reporting, risk registers, and project controls to support overall project delivery.

Desired Candidate Profile

Minimum of 10+ years post-graduate experience in Contracts Management, Quantity Surveying, or Commercial Management.

  • Proven experience on large-scale infrastructure projects in the GCC (roads, bridges, tunnels, utilities, drainage, etc.).
  • Extensive and in-depth knowledge of FIDIC contracts (Red, Yellow, and/or Silver Book), with hands-on experience administering them.
  • Strong client-facing experience, with the ability to advise and influence senior stakeholders.
  • Demonstrable experience in managing claims, variations, and dispute resolution on major projects.
  • Excellent commercial awareness and risk management capability.
  • Strong understanding of the GCC construction market, supply chain, and regulatory environment.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyse complex contractual and commercial issues and present clear, practical solutions.
  • High attention to detail with strong report writing and documentation skills.
