Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
ROLE PURPOSE
• To perform all assigned activities with adherence to Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality policies of the Company;
• To perform all assigned activities in such a manner that will ensure the Company s meeting contractual requirements in terms of quantity and quality of supplied utilities to the off-takers;
• To act with high professionalism in exercising all duties, with adherence to the Human Capital policies of the Company.
ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Corrective Maintenance
Respond to faults and failures reported in instrumentation & control panels through the work order system; visit sites to inspect, troubleshoot and correct the fault.
Check data and replace parts and components to ensure reliability of working.
Test, calibrate and reinstall all repaired electronic, electrical and mechanical instrumentation, ensuring accuracy of operation, and that all instrumentation is synchronized in conjunction with the Control Room.
Apart from the normal troubleshooting activities mentioned above, the C&I Engineer must also be familiar with troubleshooting the Siemens control system, including the following subsystems:
• Operator Stations & HMI PC-based operator interfaces running Simatic WinCC (Windows XP), including graphical displays, trend storage, diagnostic alerts, and peripheral devices (e.g., printers and terminals).
• Main Controller & Protection System Simatic AS400 PLC handling analog/digital I/O, sequencing, turbine speed and temperature control, load/frequency regulation, and redundant fail-safe protection in compliance with IEC standards.
• Condition Monitoring System (CMS) Performance and vibration monitoring, alarm/event review, data logging, trend analysis, and ensuring reliability of predictive maintenance functions.
• System Update
Feed the required information by Work Order system through service reports to ensure the maintenance of an updated system at all time.
• Preventive Maintenance
Perform preventive maintenance on instrumentation & control panels according to established schedule and maintenance cycle.
Conduct standard tests such as signal testing, flashing line, visual checking, function test & retightening action to repair or replace parts as needed, in order to ensure that the instrumentation & control panels are operating properly according to established specifications in coordination with Operations.
Refer major maintenance requirements to the Supervisor to schedule corrective maintenance within the suggested / accepted timeframe.
In addition to the practical aspects mentioned above, all preventive maintenance spare parts and consumables must be carefully reviewed both in terms of quantity and quality to ensure the plant s high reliability and availability, while also striving to optimize maintenance costs as much as possible.
• Relocation & Installation
Relocate and add new Instruments to ensure site requirements are met.
Install data in the relocated instruments to ensure they are working properly.
Installation and commissioning of the instruments to ensure proper functioning.
• Modifications & Troubleshooting
Carry out minor work modifications and troubleshooting electronic instrumentation in the assigned area which includes following electronic diagrams, checking loops, checking logic diagrams and carrying out any necessary repairs and/or repairing switches, carrying out modifications, for example, adding protection systems, checking and calibrating shutdown systems and checking microprocessors in various process or offsites instrumentation units.
Report all faults and identifies requirements for major overhauls.
• Safety Compliance
Make sure machinery comply with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards. Accountable for complying with Company Permit to Work and LOTO systems
• Policies & Procedures
Comply with the implementation of departmental/Company policies and procedures, to ensure that all relevant procedural and legislative requirements are fulfilled.
• Health, Safety & Quality
Comply with all relevant health, safety and quality requirements, in order to guarantee employee safety and legislative compliance.
• Continuous Improvement
Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes and practices taking into account leading best practices , improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement.

Desired Candidate Profile
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor in Control & Instrument, or Automation Engineering, or equivalent.
- Proficiency in English or Arabic is a must.
Minimum Experience:
- Must have at least five (5) years experience as an industrial maintenance or power plant or process plant operations in supervisory capacity. Especially Control & Instrument fields.
