Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook food items following recipes and quality guidelines
  • Thaw, portion, garnish, and arrange food items according to standards
  • Monitor food quality, freshness, and portion control throughout preparation
  • Maintain food logs and ensure compliance with hygiene and safety requirements
  • Inform chefs of excess food items and daily special opportunities
  • Coordinate with service staff regarding menu specials and out-of-stock items
  • Support kitchen operations during peak periods
  • Prepare cold dishes and mise en place as assigned
  • Follow safety, sanitation, and equipment handling procedures
  • Report maintenance issues and unsafe conditions to supervisors
  • Assist in training new culinary team members when requested
  • Maintain a clean and professional appearance at all times
  • Lift, carry, and move items up to 25 pounds as part of daily kitchen duties
  • Perform additional kitchen tasks assigned by supervisors

Ideal Profile

  • Technical, trade, or vocational degree in culinary fields preferred
  • At least 3 years of experience in a similar culinary role
  • Strong knowledge of food handling, kitchen safety, and hygiene standards
  • Ability to follow recipes and maintain consistency in food preparation
  • Physically fit to stand, bend, lift, and perform kitchen tasks for long periods
  • Team-oriented, reliable, and committed to high service standards
