Corrosion Control Specialist BAE Systems

Identification and treatment of corrosion found on aircraft components and structures.

Removes corrosion using chemical and mechanical techniques.

Perform metal etching.

Surface preparation and application of primers and surface coats.

Uses corrosion detection, measuring, metal identification and special cleaning, treatment and application equipment.

Prepares and accurately completes maintenance documentation and reports.

Maintains equipment specific to job role.

Be an active member of a diverse team within TMSC consisting of personnel from different social backgrounds and technical trades.

Responsible for reporting and encouraging expedient Error Management Reporting, addressing or highlighting any safety concerns and failings immediately.

Assist within their area-of-responsibility with regards to audits and act when called upon to take responsibility for addressing / retifying any audit findings.

Identify and enact opportunities to improve and enhance the delivery of the TSS service and encourage a Continuous Improvement culture.

Job Requirements:

A recognised qualification to NVQ3/ONC/OND/BTEC level in a relevant technical discipline, or a technical apprenticeship, or suitable equivalent technical qualification acceptable to M&CA,OR Part 66 licensed (current or lapsed), or suitable equivalent technical license acceptable to M&CA.

Have at least 5 years post qualification relevant experience supported by formal recorded workplace applied related training or successful completion of BAESSA apprenticeship programme (SNTTP/ TSNTTP).

Relevant type training (Q Course) and specific training if required.

Understand and use Maintenance GoldESP system or similar platform.

Be fully conversant with the interpretation of technical diagrams and Documentation.

Demonstrate knowledge / understanding of aircraft maintenance and engineering.

Saudi Council of Engineering (SCE) Registration.

Broad Aerospace and Defence company / industry knowledge.
