We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Cost Accountant to join our team at the factory.
Job Title: Cost Accountant
Location: Iraq Basrah
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in cost accounting.
Excellent command of accounting software and ERP systems.
High accuracy in preparing and analyzing cost and financial data.
Comprehensive understanding of cost control, budgeting, and tax regulations.
Strong ability to work under pressure and within a team-oriented environment.
Job Description: Cost Accountant Manufacturing Sector
1. Identifying Fixed and Variable Costs
Fixed Costs: Such as rent, administrative salaries, depreciation of machinery and
equipment.
Variable Costs: Including raw materials (chemicals, dyes, fragrances), energy
consumption, direct labor, and packaging expenses.
2. Calculating Unit Costs
Raw Material Costs: Calculating the cost of materials used in the production of each
type of detergent (dishwashing liquid, bar soap, laundry powder).
Direct Labor Costs: Measuring the wages of workers directly involved in production.
Operational Costs: Including energy consumption, maintenance, spare parts, and other
production-related expenses.
3. Preparing Monthly Cost Reports
Comparative Reports: Analyzing actual costs versus estimated budgets.
Variance Analysis: Identifying reasons behind cost deviations, such as increased raw
material prices or excess energy usage.
4. Supporting Efficiency and Productivity Analysis
Productivity Analysis: Measuring production efficiency in relation to the resources
consumed.
Return on Investment (ROI) Analysis: Ensuring that factory investments generate
acceptable returns by analyzing various cost and production factors.
5. Inventory Monitoring
Overseeing raw material levels, work-in-progress inventory, and finished goods stock.
Coordinating with warehouse teams to minimize waste and avoid stock shortages.
6. Product Costing
Calculating the total cost per product to support accurate pricing and profitability analysis
for each detergent type.
7. Coordination with Other Departments
Production Department: Ensuring cost alignment with production plans.
Procurement Department: Supporting efficient raw material sourcing at the best
possible cost and quality.
8. Reviewing Financial Data
Reviewing and auditing indirect costs such as marketing, general administration,
logistics, and other overheads.
Assisting the accounting department in preparing financial statements and tax-related cost
reports.
