Roles & Responsibilities

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Cost Control (Engineer) to oversee and manage the financial aspects of our construction projects. With at least 8 years of experience in the construction industry, the ideal candidate will excel in cost estimation, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. You will play a critical role in maintaining financial discipline, minimizing cost overruns, and ensuring projects stay within their allocated budgets.

Key Responsibilities

1. Cost Estimation & Budgeting

Develop and maintain accurate cost estimates based on drawings and design specifications.

Prepare detailed project budgets covering labor, materials, equipment, and overhead.

Provide ongoing cost and budget forecasts, identifying savings opportunities and risks.

2. Cost Monitoring & Reporting

Monitor actual costs against approved budgets and highlight variances.

Generate regular cost reports for senior management and project teams.

Conduct project audits to ensure compliance with cost-control procedures and identify inefficiencies.

3. Financial Tracking & Analysis

Analyze cost data to support decision-making and keep projects within budget.

Review scope changes and adjust budgets as needed.

Collaborate with procurement and contracts teams to validate purchase orders, invoices, and subcontractor payments.

4. Risk Management

Assess financial risks arising from project changes and unforeseen circumstances.

Develop and implement mitigation strategies for potential cost overruns.

Ensure thorough documentation of all cost changes, including change orders.

5. Process Improvement & Systems

Establish and maintain cost-control policies, procedures, and standards.

Utilize software tools (e.g., Procore, Primavera) for cost tracking and analysis.

Create and update templates, reports, and presentations for stakeholders.

6. Collaboration & Communication

Work closely with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to integrate cost control into all project phases.

Participate in project meetings to provide financial insights and budget recommendations.

Serve as the primary financial point of contact, ensuring clear and timely communication.


Qualifications & Skills

Bachelor s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, or a related field.

Minimum of 8 years experience in cost control or financial management within the construction industry.

Proficiency in cost-control methodologies, project budgeting, and financial reporting.

Advanced skills with cost-management software (e.g., Procore, Primavera) and Microsoft Excel.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with great attention to detail.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Arabic.Industry
