Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Responsible for supporting management through accurate cost monitoring and financial analysis across projects and operations. The role focuses on ensuring that project costs, revenues, and expenditure are aligned with approved budgets, contractual terms, and internal financial controls. Support informed business decision-making by performing financial analysis, reviewing cost submissions, identifying financial risks, and contributing to the strengthening of financial controls and governance across the organization.
Review and validate tender costings and quotations prior to submission to potential customers.
Monitor project costs and commitments against approved budgets highlight variance and exceptions.
Review and process Management Approval Forms (MAFs) and Supplier Order Approval Forms (SOAFs), ensuring expenditures are properly justified, within approved limits, and compliant with internal financial controls.
Conduct financial reviews of contracts [AMCs, accommodation rental contracts, etc.].
Prepare internal cost reports [Monthly Accommodation Cost, Monthly Payroll Cost & Monthly Transportation Cost] to support business review and decision-making processes.
Review and support asset-related financial decisions, including procurement, replacement, and disposal, ensuring cost-effectiveness and budgetary alignment.
Review General Ledger postings to ensure timely and accurate expense recording, identify erroneous postings, and support corrective actions in line with internal accounting policies.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Finance, or Accounting
- 5–10 years experience as a Cost Controller (construction / oil & gas preferred)
- Strong knowledge of project cost control & budgeting
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Primavera, or similar)
- Advanced skills in MS Excel
- Good understanding of contracts, BOQs, and project controls
- Strong analytical, reporting, and communication skills
