Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Prepare accurate, timely cost estimates for industrial projects (manufacturing/EPC/O&M) and support tenders and contract awards through rigorous quantity take-off, pricing, and risk analysis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review tender documents, drawings, specs, and prepare BOQ/MTO and assumptions/exclusions.
  • Build WBS/CBS; compile material, labor, equipment, subcontract, indirects, contingency, and margin.
  • Issue RFQs, analyze vendor quotes (technical & commercial), and perform price negotiations.
  • Develop cost models, should-cost analyses, and value-engineering alternatives.
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Finance for inputs and validations.
  • Prepare tender submissions (price schedules, clarifications, cashflow) and support post-bid queries.
  • Maintain/update price databases (materials, labor rates, productivity norms, equipment).
  • Track variance between estimated vs. actual costs and feed lessons learned.

Desired Candidate Profile

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Civil Engineering (or related).
  • 5–8 years in cost estimating for industrial/EPC/O&M projects (KSA/GCC experience an advantage).
  • Familiar with FIDIC basics, local regulations, and VAT implications.

Technical Skills

  • Advanced Excel (lookups, pivots, what-if, Power Query) and cost-modeling.
  • ERP (SAP/Oracle) & tendering tools; working knowledge of Primavera P6/MS Project.
  • On-screen take-off tools (CostX/PlanSwift or similar); strong drawing reading skills (PDF/CAD).
  • Clear professional English (Arabic a plus).
