Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Working as part of our appointed cost consultancy team, you will play a key role in post-contract commercial management, ensuring robust cost control, accurate reporting, and effective management of variations and contractor accounts. This is a client-facing position requiring strong technical capability, attention to detail, and the confidence to operate within a fast-paced, high-value project environment.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Support the delivery of all post-contract cost management services across infrastructure packages.
- Prepare and manage cost reports, budgets, and forecasts, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting to the client.
- Monitor project expenditure and track costs against approved budgets.
- Evaluate, negotiate, and agree variations, ensuring commercially sound outcomes.
- Assess and manage contractor applications, valuations, and final accounts.
- Assist in the preparation and review of contractual correspondence and notices.
- Identify commercial risks and opportunities, supporting proactive mitigation strategies.
- Work closely with the Contracts Manager and wider project team to resolve commercial issues.
- Attend client and project meetings, providing clear and concise commercial updates.
- Ensure all activities are aligned with contractual obligations, industry best practices, and company standards.
Key Skills & Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 8 years post-graduate experience in Quantity Surveying / Cost Management.
- Strong experience on large-scale infrastructure projects in the GCC (roads, bridges, utilities, drainage, etc.).
- Solid understanding of post-contract commercial management processes and deliverables.
- Good working knowledge of FIDIC contracts and their practical application.
- Experience in managing variations, valuations, and final accounts.
- Client-facing experience with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills with high attention to detail.
- Knowledge of the regional supply chain and market conditions.
- Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment.
- High attention to detail with strong report writing and documentation skills.
