Roles & Responsibilities
We re looking for a talented and motivated Cost Manager (CSA) to provide comprehensive cost management support throughout the project lifecycle. You ll be part of a collaborative, client-focused team delivering exceptional results across a high-profile, large-scale development.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Take ownership of all post-contract cost management activities for assigned projects.
- Prepare and manage payment applications, variations, and final accounts.
- Provide accurate and timely cost reporting, forecasting, and financial advice to clients.
- Conduct detailed cost analysis and value engineering exercises.
- Assess and negotiate contractor claims and variations.
- Ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions.
- Manage the commercial aspects of project completion and handover.
- Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with clients, contractors, architects, and other project stakeholders.
- Act as a key point of contact for all post-contract commercial matters.
- Effectively communicate project progress, cost implications, and potential risks to all relevant parties.
- Attend and contribute to project meetings, providing expert cost management input.
- Proactively address client needs and ensure their satisfaction.
- Ensure the accurate and efficient delivery of all cost management deliverables within agreed timelines.
- Work collaboratively with the project team to achieve project objectives.
- Identify and mitigate potential commercial risks and issues.
- Maintain meticulous project documentation and records.
- Share knowledge and best practices with colleagues.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of our cost management processes.
- Potentially mentor and support junior team members as required.
Desired Candidate Profile
Minimum of 7+ years of total professional experience in Quantity Surveying / Cost Management.
Demonstrable expertise in providing comprehensive post-contract cost management services is essential.
Proven track record of successfully managing the commercial aspects of large-scale and complex building projects in the Middle East region.
Should have extensive experience working with blue-chip UAE developers such as EMAAR, DHRE, DAMAC, ITHRA, ALDAR, Modon, Miral etc.
Experience working with various forms of contract (e.g., FIDIC, JCT).
Must have a demonstrable ability to thrive in client-facing roles. The Cost Manager should have the professional poise and confidence to present and build strong relationships with clients, consultants, and other key stakeholders.
Strong knowledge of CostX or another prominent measurement software.
Demonstrable understanding of the UAE supply chain and extensive knowledge of regional material suppliers.
Must have high-level analytical skills, with the ability to interpret and evaluate cost data effectively.
Excellent relationship-building and interpersonal skills.
Negotiation and teamwork skills.
The ability to write clear and precise reports and to relate complex information in a simple way.
