Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
The Costing Engineer is responsible for preparing, analyzing, and controlling cost estimates for projects, products, and services. This role ensures accurate budgeting, supports tender submissions, and provides financial insights to guide decision-making and optimize project profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and review cost estimates, budgets, and quotations for projects and tenders.
- Analyze engineering drawings, specifications, and bills of quantities to determine material, labor, and equipment costs.
- Coordinate with procurement, engineering, and project management teams to gather accurate cost data.
- Monitor actual project costs versus estimates and highlight variances.
- Prepare cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and profitability analysis.
- Support negotiations with clients and suppliers by providing cost breakdowns and justifications.
- Maintain and update costing databases, historical records, and benchmarks.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and client requirements.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Bachelor s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience in cost estimation, project costing, or quantity surveying.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills.
- Proficiency in costing software, MS Excel, and ERP systems.
- Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication and reporting skill
