Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead the design, implementation, and performance evaluation of impressed current and sacrificial anode CP systems.
  • Conduct Close Interval Potential (CIP), DCVG, and interference surveys to assess system effectiveness and detect coating damage.
  • Perform External Corrosion Direct Assessment (ECDA) in accordance with NACE standards.
  • Support integrity risk assessments and align CP performance with company-defined Integrity standards and specification in line with FOMS 6-2 requirements.
  • Execute CP design calculations (current requirements, anode sizing, spacing) in compliance with NACE SP0169, SP0502, ISO 15589-1, and related codes.
  • Oversee CP commissioning, baseline surveys, and periodic validation inspections.
  • Review field data to ensure continuous compliance with CP criteria.
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts for underperforming CP systems and recommend mitigation actions.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation of CP system layouts, performance records, and survey results.
  • Collaborate with other teams viz. maintenance projects and operations to align corrosion control strategy across assets.
  • Provide input to pipeline modification projects to ensure adequate CP coverage.
  • Develop CP reporting tools and templates to track KPI trends.
  • Support vendor management during field implementation and surveys.
  • Deliver CP-related training to field technicians and junior engineers.
  • Participate in incident investigations and root cause analyses involving external corrosion.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, national regulations, and international best practices.

Desired Candidate Profile

Expected:

  • Bachelor s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 15 years of hands-on experience in cathodic protection in onshore upstream oil and gas installations.
  • Proven experience with:
    • Impressed current and galvanic CP systems
    • NACE ECDA methodologies
    • CIP and DCVG surveys
    • Interference testing and mitigation
    • CP system design and calculations
  • Working knowledge of CP monitoring tools and survey instruments.
  • Familiarity with industry codes and standards: NACE SP0169, SP0502, ISO 15589-1.
  • Good understanding of pipeline coating systems, soil resistivity, and CP shielding effects.
  • Certified to minimum NACE CP level-3

Skills:

  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Effective communication (verbal and written)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Report writing, technical documentation, and digital data analysis
  • Ability to work independently in remote field locations

Systems:

  • Familiarity with CP modeling and analysis tools
  • Experience with asset integrity management systems and corrosion management systems
