Roles & Responsibilities

Main Accountabilities

  • Maximise day-to-day cash collections in line with agreed payment dates.

  • Ensure outstanding monies are actively chased and maintain clear, documented follow-up actions.

  • Visit customers, together with local Sales teams, to manage complex cases, discuss payment plans, and develop creative solutions that secure successful payment.

  • Act as the primary escalation point for the team, overseeing and assisting with complex, high-value, or long-running customer queries and disputes to drive timely resolution.

  • Implement recovery procedures, including legal action where appropriate.

  • Monitor and resolve unallocated cash to ensure accurate account reconciliation.

  • Follow up on payment plans, promises to pay, and disputes.

  • Identify and recommend process improvements that strengthen internal controls and enhance operational efficiency.

  • Maintain high standards of compliance with internal policies and relevant legislation.

  • Provide timely updates and reporting to the business as required.

  • Analyse customer payment behaviour and regional impairment drivers, recommending risk-mitigating actions or credit limit adjustments.

  • Collaborate closely with Sales, Finance, and Regional Management to address structural issues impacting customer payment performance.

  • Prepare accurate collection forecasts and impairment insights for senior stakeholders.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance & accounting, business or a related field.

  • At least 3 years of experience in credit control, managing complex and high value ledgers and resolving issues independently.

  • Strong understanding of the Order to Cash cycle and confidence working with senior stakeholders on complex queries and negotiations.

  • Excellent negotiation, communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.

  • Someone who is organised, detail driven and comfortable managing multiple priorities.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and accounting/ERP systems

  • Good knowledge of English. French and Arabic are a plus.

  • Solid understanding of local and international credit control laws and regulations
