Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Key Accountabilities:

  • Lead the development, periodic review, and enhancement of the Margin Trading Policy and all related Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), ensuring complete alignment with Group policies, risk appetite, and regulatory expectations.

  • Support FABS Risk team to assess the credit risk controls across all FAB Securities products and services, ensuring continuous monitoring of exposures, early identification of emerging risks, and escalation of material issues to protect the business.

  • Submit a comprehensive and accurate Credit Risk Assessments for FAB Securities within the prescribed guidelines and oversee the implementation of all recommended controls and mitigation actions.

  • Ensure effective implementation of the Group s credit risk framework across all existing and new credit products, validating that controls, processes, and documentation comply with internal standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Manage, structure, and continuously enhance the credit function to ensure operational efficiency and strong control. Identify process gaps, system weaknesses, and potential risk areas, and lead initiatives to strengthen the credit risk environment.

  • Ensure FAB Securities operates with strong credit discipline, minimal credit risk exposure, and consistent adoption of market best practices in line with Group frameworks and regulatory obligations.

  • Collaborate with Audit, Legal, Compliance, and other control functions to address credit related matters, remediate account shortfalls, and manage changes in client risk profiles. Provide recommendations and ensure timely and appropriate corrective actions.

Specific Accountabilities:

  • Oversee all Margin Trading documentation, including Account Opening Agreements, appendices, communication templates, and any related materials. Coordinate closely with FAB Securities Risk, Group Legal, Compliance, and relevant stakeholders to ensure accuracy, consistency, and regulatory alignment.

  • Evaluate Margin Trading Facility requests in accordance with regulatory guidelines, market rules, and the approved Margin Trading Credit Policy, ensuring sound judgment and adherence to credit standards.

  • Conduct daily monitoring of all approved margin facilities, including client portfolios, exposures, and margin ratios, in line with regulatory and policy requirements. Take proactive measures to mitigate default and financial risks and ensure timely escalation of any concerns.

  • Identify and flag accounts in shortfall or under margin call conditions, collaborating with the relevant business units to ensure prompt action by Relationship Managers or Brokers to resolve client shortfalls.

  • Approve liquidations in accordance with the margin call process, ensuring full compliance with regulatory guidelines, markets rules, and the approved Margin Credit Policy.

  • Manage the end to end process of the Approved Securities List (ASL), including analysing the impact on margin accounts, initiating implementation of updates, communicating changes to clients, and coordinating with stakeholders to ensure proper system updates.

  • Assess and evaluate client requests related to stock transfers, fund transfers, and account closures, ensuring compliance with margin trading requirements and safeguarding credit risk controls.

  • Prepare and deliver management reports related to credit matters on a timely and accurate basis, ensuring clear visibility of exposures, trends, and emerging risks.

  • Undertake all additional tasks assigned by Group or FAB Securities Management on an ad hoc basis, ensuring high quality execution and alignment with business objectives.

  • Oversea the ECL calculation and coordinate with FASB Risk team on all related matters.

  • Functions within the framework and boundaries of Group policies as well as overall organizational and governance frameworks.

  • Authorized to take decisions as per the approved authorization matrix.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Candidate should have minimum 7-10 years experience in Credit with specific experience in UAE brokerage companies reporting under SCA jurisdiction and local Markets.

  • Able to handle independently all relevant credit matters of the business.

  • Team player, able to meet tight deadlines and manage challenging workload.

  • Focused on driving tasks to completion with pace, whilst retaining a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Excellent understanding of SCA regulations pertaining to securities.

  • Excellent project management skills with project management and risk mitigation skills

  • Strong interpersonal, people management and facilitation skills with good leadership skills.

  • Ability to generate ideas, think creatively, develop innovative solutions and build effective business relationships quickly
