Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Support the kitchen brigade in daily preparation, mise-en-place, hygiene, and basic service tasks while gaining practical exposure to professional hotel kitchen operations.

What You Will Learn

  • Kitchen mise-en-place and basic food preparation
  • Hot kitchen, cold kitchen, pastry, or bakery basics based on assignment
  • Food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards in hotel operations
  • Proper storage, labelling, dating, and stock rotation
  • Teamwork, kitchen discipline, and service coordination
  • Professional standards in a fast-paced hotel culinary environment

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist chefs with basic preparation tasks and mise-en-place.
  • Support food production during service under supervision.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations and kitchen equipment.
  • Follow recipes, portion control, and presentation guidance as instructed.
  • Ensure correct labelling, dating, storage, and rotation of food items in line with FIFO.
  • Follow hygiene, food safety, and grooming standards at all times.
  • Assist with receiving and storing kitchen supplies when required.
  • Support general kitchen operations and learn from the culinary team.

Desired Candidate Profile

Culinary student or fresh graduate in Culinary Arts, Hospitality, or related field.

Passion for food and willingness to learn in a professional kitchen environment.

Basic understanding of kitchen hygiene and food safety is an advantage.

Positive attitude, teamwork, and willingness to support operations.

Good command of English for kitchen communication.

Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays.

Internship or trainee experience is an advantage.

Immediate availability is preferred.
