Roles & Responsibilities
YOUR ROLE
The Customs Declarant Supervisor manages and coordinates the activity of the customs declarant team, ensures the quality and conformity of all declarations (Import/Export), optimizes the organization of files and guarantees compliance with customs and tax regulations in Morocco as well as the company's quality, safety and hygiene standards.
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
Team management and organization
- To supervise, motivate and support the team of customs declarants on a daily basis.
- Organize the distribution of files and priorities, ensuring that deadlines are met.
- To ensure the integration, training and skills development of new employees.
- Ensure performance evaluation, propose improvement and development plans.
Management and control of customs operations
- Supervise the preparation and monitoring of customs files for import and export.
- Validate or check provisional and final declarations, tariff classification and constituent elements of declarations.
- Ensure compliance of operations with Moroccan customs and tax laws and regulations.
- Ensure follow-up of overdue liquidations and proper maintenance of reserve letters.
Relationship with the Administration and clients
- Represent the service to the Customs Administration during document presentations, visits and controls.
- Coordinate customs operations with clients, internal site entities, and customs and tax authorities.
- Manage sensitive or complex cases (disputes, anomalies, complaints) and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
Administrative and quality monitoring
- Ensure the proper maintenance, filing and archiving of customs files and documents.
- Supervise the entry of declarations on the BADR system and the updating of data in the IS.
- Set up and monitor performance indicators (delays, quality, anomalies, complaints).
- Ensure compliance with internal procedures, quality, safety and hygiene standards, and propose continuous improvement actions.
Regulatory monitoring and expertise
- Monitor changes in customs and tax regulations in Morocco and disseminate information to the team.
- Advise internal and external clients on customs, tax and documentary matters.
Desired Candidate Profile
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
- Minimum Bac +2 from the school for customs declarants.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar position.
- In-depth mastery of customs regulations in Morocco.
- Excellent knowledge of import/export procedures and the BADR system.
- Proficiency in computer tools and customs management software.
- Mastery of French. English is an asset.
- In-depth knowledge of customs regulations in Morocco
- Excellent organizational and administrative management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and solve problems quickly.
- Good communication and negotiation skills.
- Rigour and precision in the handling of files.
- Customer service skills and ability to work in a team.
- Adaptability and flexibility in the face of change.
