Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Key Accountabilities:

  • Manage the Safety & Security rules, regulations and security procedures, to ensure strict Physical Security for the Data Center.
  • Maintaining and managing the availability of Data Center systems and equipment to the highest possible level with suitable and technically accepted condition.
  • Responsible for Data Center Engineering process within CIB Data Centers including risk mitigation, supervise corrective and preventative maintenance of critical infrastructure that supports mission-critical servers.
  • Monitor bank s applications servers and operational status infrastructure capacity and status through Site Scope and monitor DC site network through Network Node Manager and follow escalation procedures.
  • Ensure that all the repairs and related Maintenance activities for the assigned systems are performed as scheduled.
  • Maintain national electrical code and OSHA standards for site operations.
  • Ensure that all DC site operational records and files are maintained and properly updated.
  • Check Technician activities are done properly and correctly. Validate DC operators and technician assigned tasks and records.
  • Follow up preventive maintenance activities carried out as scheduled and stated in the MOP s
  • Ensure that new equipment is installed in proper locations in terms of power requirements and data cabling.
  • Monitor the supplies and materials required for maintenance and cleanness of the Data Centre

Policies, Processes and Procedures

Follow all relevant department policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner

Day-to-day Operations

Follow the day-to-day operations related to own jobs in the IT Infrastructure Management Department to ensure continuity of work

Compliance

Comply with all relevant CBE regulations, banking laws, AML regulations and internal CIB policies and code of conduct in order to maintain CIB s sound legal position and mitigate any potential risks

Desired Candidate Profile

Bachelor s degree in Engineering, Computer / Communications / Electrical or their equivalent.
From 0- 3 of experience in a similar position.
Knowledge of Data Center, Network systems and Servers
Certification of ITIL foundation is a must
Physical Requirements:
Physically fit to perform the daily tasks required
Skills
Knowledge of the electrical and mechanical systems used in a data center environment, including Feeders, Transformers, Generators, Switchgear, UPS systems, ATS/STS units, PDU and CRAC units.
Thorough understanding of industry practices, processes, standards, etc.
Knowledge of PCI,NFPA 70E,ISO,BICSI standards are mandatory.
Knowledge Uptime institute standards and topology
Knowledge of Revit or AutoCAD is preferred
Ability to identify and resolve problems independently.
Strong verbal and written Communication skills
Excellent written and spoken English & Arabic
Ability to work flexible hours (shifts) and be accessible 24/7/365.
Strong analytical skills and willingness to mentor others.
