Roles & Responsibilities

Org. Setting and Reporting

The Data Management and Reporting Officer reports to the Field Programme Support Officer.

Responsibilities

  • Leads field-wide data management, monitoring, analytics and reporting services across JFO Programmes Health, Education, Microfinance, Relief and Social Services (RSS), Infrastructure & Camp Improvement Programme (ICIP) and Protection coordinating with HQ to ensure systems and databases meet cross-programme needs.
  • Prepares infographics and reports, including the compilation and collation of information, indicators' achievements for the Strategic Plan PHONE_NUMBER); prepares and reviews other reports, such as the monthly snapshot, monthly summary, Emergency Appeals, and ad-hoc requests; compiles inputs on best practices and lessons learned.
  • Designs, develops, and maintains dashboards and reporting solutions to support evidence-based planning, audits, workforce planning, donor reporting, and monitoring. Manages moderate-to-complex reports and analytics products using appropriate visualization tools, ensures sustainable maintenance and user support, and researches best-fit technology solutions and innovations for Programme needs.
  • Supports engagement with end users to promote business process improvements that enhance Agency performance and data transparency, including combining data streams to generate detailed profiles from different systems.
  • Develops, monitors and maintains detailed information including progress against project management milestones, timelines and resources and leads knowledge management best practices within the Field Office.
  • Leads programme-specific reporting initiatives and analytics roadmaps in partnership with Programme Chiefs/Managers (e.g., performance dashboards, results frameworks, trend analyses, and narrative data stories), aligning products with donor requirements and audit standards.
  • Champions data quality and governance practices (standards, definitions, metadata, stewardship), facilitates capacity building for programme focal points, and supports readiness for internal/external reviews and audits.
  • Provides other operational support as required, particularly to address gaps in humanitarian and emergency operations.

Desired Candidate Profile

An advanced university degree (Master's or equivalent) from an accredited educational institution in Information Management, Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, GIS, Engineering, or a related discipline.

At least five years of relevant experience in data management, project management and drafting reports is required.

One year of practical data management and reporting experience, preferably in humanitarian and human rights issues and drafting official reports is required.

Unless already serving as an international staff member in the UN Common System, at least two continuous years of relevant international experience outside UNRWA, and outside the country(s) of which the candidate is a national or holds citizenship, a passport or a national identity number is required.

Working Knowledge of Arabic Language is desirable.
