Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
We are looking for an experienced Data Processing & Analytics Specialist to support us with delivering high-quality, scalable survey analytics. You will work with large and complex survey datasets, automate workflows, and produce accurate, high-value outputs that underpin our client deliverables.
This role suits someone who enjoys hands-on data manipulation, process optimisation, and working with tools such as SPSS, Excel, Alteryx, and VBA.
Key Responsibilities
Data Processing & Management
Process, clean, and transform large SPSS datasets (multi-wave, multi-market).
Write, optimise, and maintain SPSS syntax for automation and reproducibility.
Ensure data quality, consistency, and accuracy throughout all processing stages.
Survey Table Production
Build and automate batch survey tables using SPSS Custom Tables.
Apply statistical testing and ensure tables follow client specifications and standards.
Automation & Efficiency
Develop and maintain Excel/VBA tools to automate repetitive tasks.
Use advanced Excel functions (INDEX/MATCH, pivot tables) for analysis and structuring outputs.
Build and run Alteryx workflows to streamline data preparation and processing.
Collaboration & Delivery
Work with project teams to scope data requirements and deliver outputs on schedule.
Support continuous improvement and standardisation of processes across PwC Research delivery.
Document all workflows and processes to ensure transparency and repeatability.
Required Skills & Experience
Technical
Strong experience with SPSS Custom Tables and automated table production.
Advanced ability to write and debug SPSS syntax for large datasets.
Experience handling very large SPSS files (e.g., 10k+ cases, 10k+ variables).
Experience merging large and complex SPSS datasets (multi-wave, multi-country) using syntax-based processes
Experience applying and quality-checking surveys weights and incorporating weights into SPSS analyses and table outputs
Expert Excel skills, including lookups, formula auditing, pivoting, and structuring.
VBA skills for building or maintaining macros and automation tools.
Alteryx workflow development for data preparation and transformation.
Professional
High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Ability to manage competing priorities and work to tight deadlines.
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate in distributed teams.
A process-improvement mindset and willingness to innovate.
Desirable Skills
Experience in market research or survey research environments.
Knowledge of statistical significance testing in tabulations.
Exposure to quantitative surveys analysis techniques, such as:
Factor analysis
Correlation analysis
Regression modelling (linear/logistic)
Ability to support analysts with basic interpretation of survey data patterns.
