Roles & Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Privacy Framework Implementation and Incident Response
- Advise on, draft, and recommend improvements to the DIH privacy framework.
- Update the Incident Response policy in collaboration with the Chief Security Officer (CSO).
- Monitor employee awareness of data protection obligations.
- Prepare and submit timely reports on data incidents and breaches to the CSO, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
Data Protection and Compliance
- Implement safeguards for personal data transfers, including Standard Contractual Clauses where required.
- Maintain and regularly update the Record of Processing Activities in cooperation with service line management.
- Deliver continuous privacy awareness training and provide guidance to the Governing Body, Management, and employees on data protection responsibilities.
Risk Assessment and Reporting
- Conduct Legitimate Interest Assessments (LIAs), Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs), and Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) for new tools and processes.
- Prepare and submit an Annual Data Protection Report detailing data protection events, incidents, and breaches to the COO for CEO review.
- Serve as the point of contact with Data Protection Authorities regarding data processing, incidents, and enquiries.
Support and Compliance Monitoring
- Provide expert advice on privacy enquiries, Privacy by Design, and Privacy by Default principles.
- Implement controls to ensure compliance with data protection laws and firm policies, including staff training and audits.
- Respond to guidance and directives from Supervisory Authorities, including inspections and findings.
Desired Candidate Profile
Deloitte is seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Data Protection Officer (DPO) to ensure that all personal data within the organisation is handled responsibly and in compliance with applicable data protection laws. The DPO will play a critical role in implementing privacy frameworks, managing data protection compliance, and acting as the primary liaison with Data Protection Authorities.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor s degree in law, Information Security, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
- Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) certification is preferred.
- Expert knowledge of national and international data protection laws and practices, e.g. GDPR.
- 4 to 7 years experience in data protection, privacy law, or compliance roles.
- Strong understanding of the business sector and organizational processes related to data processing.
- Proven ability to manage data protection frameworks and liaise effectively with regulatory authorities.
