Key Activities

Data Strategy and Planning

• Support in developing and maintaining a data strategy that aligns with the SANS objectives and long-term goals
• Assist in defining the vision, goals, and roadmap for data management and governance initiatives
• Co-ordinate with PMO to track project progress and performance management by value tracking
• Support with the development and monitoring of the department s business plan, strategic objectives, and KPIs.
• Support with managing and continuously monitor the Data Management and Governance budget by tracking and reviewing the actual spending against plan
• Assist in planning, developing and conducting training related to data management, and data governance by coordinating with HR
• Support with promoting a data-driven culture by planning change management and data-related training and awareness in SANS
• Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to data strategy to measure the effectiveness of the data-related initiative
• Manage change associated with data initiatives, ensuring that changes are communicated effectively and adopted by stakeholders
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of data strategy, plans, and associated processes

Demand Management

• Coordinate with vendors and external partners, ensuring they deliver required components/services on time and within scope
• Manage relationships with external and internal stakeholders, ensuring their data and analytics needs are fulfilled
• Laison with different SANS stakeholders on data management and governance strategy, initiatives, plans,
• Promote effective collaboration and communication with internal team members and maintain cross-departmental alignment to ensure synergy and coherence.

Policies, Processes and Procedures

• Conduct day-to-day activities while ensuring compliance to policies and procedures
• Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes considering leading practices, changes in the business environment, cost reduction, and productivity improvement
