Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Design, install, configure, and maintain database management systems (DBMS) in production and development environments.
  • Monitor database performance and tune queries to optimize performance and efficiency.
  • Implement and manage data security measures to protect sensitive payment and customer information.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant data protection regulations (e.g., PCI DSS, GDPR).
  • Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies to safeguard data integrity and availability.
  • Regularly test and validate backup processes and disaster recovery plans.
  • Collaborate with development teams to design database schemas that support application requirements.
  • Optimize database structures and indexes to enhance query performance.
  • Identify and resolve database issues, including performance bottlenecks, data corruption, and connectivity problems.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to development and operations teams regarding database-related queries.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of database configurations, processes, and changes.
  • Generate reports on database performance, usage, and capacity for stakeholders.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in database management.
  • Propose and implement enhancements to improve database efficiency and reliability.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience as a Database Administrator, preferably in the fintech or e-payment industry.
  • Proficiency in database management systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server).
  • Strong understanding of database design principles, normalization, and indexing strategies.
  • Experience with database performance tuning, monitoring tools, and backup/recovery procedures.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., SQL, Python, Bash) for automation and reporting.
  • Familiarity with cloud database services (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL) is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
