Roles & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain database security measures, including access controls, encryption, and auditing.
  • Develop and enforce database security policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing of databases.
  • Monitor database activity for suspicious behavior and security breaches.
  • Respond to security incidents and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with DBAs, system admins, and developers to ensure secure operations.
  • Stay updated on the latest threats, trends, and technologies in database security.
  • Evaluate and select appropriate database security tools and technologies.
  • Manage tools like firewalls and intrusion detection systems for databases.
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations.
  • Prepare and present security reports to management.
  • Participate in incident response and forensic investigations.
  • Deliver security awareness training to database users.

Desired Candidate Profile

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in database security administration/engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of database security principles and technologies.
  • Experience with Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.
  • Familiarity with database firewalls, IDS, and vulnerability scanners.
  • Knowledge of data privacy regulations.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Certifications like CISSP, CISM, Security+, or Database Security certs are a plus.
  • Experience with scripting (Python, Perl) for security task automation is a plus.
  • Background in Tender Submissions is preferred.
