Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure strict compliance with internal HSE and quality standards to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Conduct pre-drilling planning to determine optimal well paths, drilling parameters, and BHA configurations.
  • Operate directional drilling tools and systems to steer the wellbore precisely as per the drilling plan.
  • Monitor drilling progress and proactively adjust parameters to achieve performance and safety goals.
  • Maintain and calibrate directional drilling equipment for peak reliability and accuracy.
  • Participate in QHSE meetings and recommend improvements for continuous operational excellence.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve real-time issues related to downhole tools, data interpretation, and well trajectory.
  • Collaborate closely with drilling engineers and rig crews to optimize well performance and reduce non-productive time.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of drilling parameters, equipment usage, and progress reports.
  • Demonstrate adaptability to varying field conditions, including remote or extreme environments.
  • Maintain composure and make decisive actions in high-pressure or emergency situations.

Role Purpose:

To efficiently manage and execute directional drilling operations using advanced technology ensuring wells are delivered safely, accurately, and cost-effectively according to client objectives.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong understanding of drill string design, BHA configuration, drilling fluids, and pressure control.
  • Ability to interpret real-time drilling data such as torque, ROP, weight on bit, and mud properties.
  • Proficiency with directional drilling software (e.g., anti-collision, wellbore positioning, and trajectory planning).

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • High adaptability and composure under challenging conditions.

Desired Candidate Profile

What We re Looking For:

  • Education:
    Degree or Diploma in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Experience:
    Minimum of 3 5 years in directional drilling operations, preferably with experience in both onshore and offshore environments.
