Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Provide executive leadership, implementing ODC s Strategic and Operational Plans.
Establish new post graduate training and qualifications.
Chair the Academic Board, Operations Board and Senior Management Team.
Serve as non-voting Secretary to the Board of Trustees and attend Board of Directors meetings.
Ensure academic governance, program quality and compliance with the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation and the Oman Academic Accreditation Authority requirements.
Foster a culture of research, innovation and scholarly output.
Guide curriculum development and faculty appointment/promotion processes.
Manage financial and operational resources and lead strategic institutional development.
Build and maintain partnerships with government, healthcare organisations and global institutions.
Ensure clinical education and patient services meet Ministry of Health regulations, including infection control standards.
Oversee staff development, succession planning and Omanisation objectives.
Lead accreditation processes and quality audits.
Accountability and report on institutional performance to the Board of Directors.
Desired Candidate Profile
Tertiary academic and professional qualifications in dentistry (Board Certification, Fellowship, or equivalent) and holding rank of full professor for at least five years.
A minimum of 10 years senior academic leadership experience (Dean, Director, Chair, or Program Director) with academic accreditation experience.
At least 10 years of extensive experience in dental education, including integrated, student-centered and interprofessional learning.
Senior clinical management experience of at least 10 years.
Proven record in faculty/staff development, mentoring and performance evaluation.
Demonstrable experience of a minimum of 10 years in curriculum design and development, assessment, budgeting and strategic planning .
